San Diego
The Armed Services YMCA enhances the lives of military members and their families in spirit, mind, and body through programs relevant to the unique challenges of military life.
Our focus is to provide needed programs and services for single or married junior enlisted personnel and their family members. The Armed Services YMCA San Diego empowers military families, no matter who they are or where they’re from, by ensuring access to resources, relationships, and opportunities for all to learn, grow, and thrive.
Lack of affordable, available childcare is one of the most significant barriers to success for military families in San Diego.
We’re thrilled that our new Center for Military Families will double our capacity to serve military children and families, providing extended-day childcare and youth development programs to help kids build resiliency, make friends, and thrive in school.

Learn MoreOur core programmatic focus is on the resiliency of military families. Military life presents unique challenges for the family unit and each individual member. That’s why we provide experiences to help navigate military life amidst transfers, deployments, increased child care needs and financial burdens. Programs are offered at no or low cost and require no membership fees.
We work closely with the Department of Defense and installation commands to identify opportunities and augment service areas to help young military families come together, stay together and thrive together.
