This day camp program serves military children as an outlet for youth to share their common experiences and receive academic, recreational, and leadership-based enrichment.

3-Day Summer Youth Equestrian Day Camp Returns – Starting June 3!
🐴 Calling all young horse lovers and outdoor explorers aged 6 to 14!
We’re excited to kick off another incredible season of Youth Equestrian Day Camp at the ASYMCA! Let your child experience the joy of horses, the thrill of the outdoors, and make lifelong memories.
Camp Highlights Include:
🏇 Horseback Riding
🍽️ Feeding & Grooming Horses
🏹 Archery
🌱 Gardening
🥾 Hiking Adventures
…and so much more outdoor fun!
💲 Cost: $199 per week
📍 Drop-off & Pickup Location:
ASYMCA Murphy Canyon
🚌 Transportation Provided to:
Horse of the Sun Ranch
🕰️Camp Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
👖 What to Wear:
  ✔️Mandatory: Jeans
  ✔️ Recommended: Western or cowboy boots with slick bottoms and heels (no lug-sole boots).
  ✔️ OK Option: Athletic shoes with laces (non-slip).
⚖️ Riding Weight Limit: 225 lbs
🍱 Please Pack:
 ✔️ Lunch (we do not provide lunch)
 ✔️ Water bottle
🍪 We Provide:
 ✔️ Two daily snacks to keep your camper fueled for the day’s adventures!

Program Overview

Camp Hero provides opportunities for military children to make meaningful connections. For military children, who may face moving to a new city, state, and school every two to three years, these friendships, support networks, and memories last a lifetime.

Camp Hero focuses on:

  • Building confidence and enhancing self-image
  • Improving social skills that reflect age-appropriate behavior
  • Teaching conflict resolution and the healthy management and expression of anger
  • Increasing bonds with family and friends
  • Equipping military children and families with tools and resources to cope with the challenges of military life

The Camp Hero experience is broken down by weekly themes that enhance each child’s learning experience. Camp Hero takes place every Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer break.
